A recent article in The Denver Post reported that job growth in Douglas County ranked second in the nation for the 12 month period ending last September. During the period, Douglas County logged a job growth rate of 5.9%. Instead of the job growth being attributed to a specific sector, the growth came across the board. Alexandra Hall, the state’s chief labor department economist was quoted by the Post as saying: “Douglas County has a pretty diverse industry base. I’m not sure we could just point to one industry.”
In addition to robust job growth, wages in Douglas County have also been on the increase. According to a report released last June, average wages in Douglas County increased 48% in 2012, the second largest increase in the country.
A strong job market is just one of the many reasons that Douglas County is a great place to live. The county also offers exceptional schools, a wealth of amenities, and some of the best shopping and dining in the Denver Metro area.
